REVELATION 14 - The Controversy of Zion addressed

THE HOLY LAMB OF GOD
Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount
Sion,
and with him, an hundred forty and four
thousand, having his Father's name written
in their foreheads.

144,000 = 12,000 x 12,000
12 is the number of Apostles - gentile believers
12 is the number of Jacob's tribes. - Jewish believers

LAMB Greek for 721

arnion {ar-nee'-on}

It's ironic to have the LORD being called
a "little lamb," deliberately diminutive
and vulnerable. He uses the same word
in John, to describe his flock.
Jhn 21:15

A stray lamb is completely vulnerable,
to predators which ranged from dogs to
human beings Sunday dinner.

The LORD, with ALL power and strength,
did not need to fear, but, when Jesus was
accomplishing the Final Act, he did lose
all his power and strength, becoming as
vulnerable as any other flesh and blood
man, being whipped, being scourged,
being tortured, and dying nailed to a
cross.

Would any serial killer in the USA be executed
and tortured in such a manner?

This was the law of the land, which by then
was a Greco-Roman principality. Herod was
the grandson of Cleopatra. Then there was
Rome...

They determined the manner of death.

He was helpless, like a lamb, when he was
nailed to a cross on a field overlooking
the Holy Temple. He gave up the ghost
while wearing a crown of thorns, and the
placard declaring, "King of the Jews."

Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

ZION : Became "The City of David"
Mount Zion is a nickname, not a
proper one. The proper name, is
Mount Hermon.

Deuteronomy 4:48

From Aroer, which is by the bank of the
river Arnon, even unto mount Sion,
which is Hermon

2Sa 5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same [is] the city of David.

1Ki 8:1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which [is] Zion.

Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many
waters
, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard
the voice of harpers harping with their harps.

2Sa 6:5 And David and all the house of Israel played before
the LORD on all manner of [instruments made of] fir wood,
even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on
cornets, and on cymbals.

1Ki 10:12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the
house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and
psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor
were seen unto this day.

1Ch 13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with all
[their] might, and with singing, and with harps, and with
psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with
trumpets.

1Ch 15:16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to
appoint their brethren [to be] the singers with instruments
of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by
lifting up the voice with joy.

I wonder if Angels clap with their wings?

O to hear the LORD SING!
Our LORD loves music.

Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before
the throne, and before the four beasts,
and the elders:
and no man could learn that
song but the hundred [and]
forty; and no man
could learn that song but the hundred [and]
forty [and] four thousand, which were
redeemed from the earth.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women;
for they are virgins. These are they which follow the
Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed
from among men, [being] the firstfruits unto God and
to the Lamb.

Harvest of believers, before the final indignation.
Nuclear war, and worse.

GRAPES :
Gen 40:10 And in the vine [were] three branches:
and it [was] as though it budded, [and] her blossoms shot
forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:

Gen 49:11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt

his clothes in the blood of grapes:

Lev 25:11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of thy vine undressed.

Num 6:3 He shall separate [himself] from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

Grape is a metaphor for many things. Firstly, it is the
symbol for blood. Veinous blood is this color.

Grape is synonomous with believers, on the vine of
the original tree of life, in the Law, and in Faith in
Jesus Christ.

Context determines the signifigance of how grape is
utilized. Sometimes, it is just literal, too.

But, more times than not, it is attached to a deeper
meaning, like in Song of Solomon and in Isaiah:

Sgs 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil
the vines: for our vines [have] tender grapes.

Sgs 7:7 This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy
breasts to clusters [of grapes].

Isa 5:2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof,
and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the
midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked
that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild
grapes.

Isa 5:4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that
I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should
bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood
came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by
the space of a thousand [and] six hundred furlongs.

This hasn't happened yet.
