Rev 9:1 | And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. Remember, only Christ has the keys to the Kingdom and to Hades.
And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. Just as smoke, represented our prayers, in Rev. 8, this smoke is the dark image of intercession to God. This smoke has a parrellel meaning, to represent the invocations of the rebellious and doomed.
And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. Locusts were one of the plagues on Egypt. Last year, there were plagues of locusts throughout Africa and Asia, even parts of N. Europe. Exd 10:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, [even] all that the hail hath left. Exd 10:13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all [that] night; [and] when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. Locusts always represent the devourer. In Joel, they are used as a metaphor for the oppressors of Greece and Rome. John the Apostle, the brother of Christ, adopted son of Mary, has to code this last epistle of the Age, and we have to be serious about searching for the right keys and only the Lord can provide those. Joe 1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. Joe 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. We all need to pray for light. The good thing about prayer is that it always yields fruit. God hears all our prayers. They are delivered to his ears on the wings of the angels. Knowing God's perfection and mercy is the only way to survive I'll work on this....
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 7 7 7 Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented for five months; and their torment [was] as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. Locusts represent devourers, in a totalitarianistic world to come, already here, in the form of evil emporers, princes, and governments. Scorpions are the power behind the evil. This verse states that locusts will have the power of scorpions. While a pest, the locust doesn't devour flesh, unless there is no harvest, and in the failure of the fields, the creatures, programmed to consume, begin to strike men, the way of deadly scorpions in the wilderness. These symbols come together in a harmony. These are the emblems of the antichrist. In order to know the antichrist, you need to know Christ first. If you don't know Christ, the antichrist may become your Christ. That's what scares me about Revelation, because, 5 out of 7 of the churches of Asia Minor, were damned. They thought they were worshipping well. They confessed Christ, yet, they were doomed, because, they were lured away by a deceiver. Locusts as scorpions. Scoroians and Fiery Serpent. Brass fiery serpent, the Staff of YHWH, The body of Christ. SCORPION- this has a few specific meanings. First, the critter with the fierce sting which can kill. During the Hebrews sojourn through the wilderness with Moses, there were "fiery serpents" and "scorpions." The fiery serpent 's venom was of no effect to those who followed Moses, in faith, when he held up the BRASS FIERY SERPENT, which represented Christ. This is one of the great symbolic, while being literal, example of God's healing. Scorpions are associated with locusts and fiery serpents. These are spiritual principles of the Old Testament. Deu 8:15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, [wherein were] fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where [there was] no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Both the scorpion and fiery serpent came to mean enemies and oppressors to the Hebrews. In fact, the word for scorpion, awkrab, a barbed whip. It also came to mean wicked rulers. For instance, after Solomon died, the Kingdom went to his evil son, Rehoboam, who promised the 12 tribes that the taxes his father imposed to build the Temple, would be nothing compared to his reign. He implied that he would include scorpions! 1Ki 12:11 And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. Through all this symbolism of terror, it was a natural fit to use the word "scorpion" to denote the wicked. It's interesting in this context, and probably the closest to the symbolic use in Rev. 9 to regard the Prophet Ezekiel's use of the word. Eze 2:6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns [be] with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they [be] a rebellious house. In Ezekiel, the Lord tells him to have confidence in His power over the House of Israel (Northern Kingdom) because they are wicked. In this context, they are called "scorpions." Utilizing all this symbolism, especially the brazen fiery serpent of Moses, Ezekiel is told he has protection from the wicked people in Israel. In this prophetic context, we come to the use of the word in Rev. 9. Just like Ezekiel overcame their wickedness, and Moses was given the brazen serpent to cure the literal sting of the creatures who plagued the wilderness, the latter day church, or tribulation church, as long as they have faith, can overcome. The modern use, therefore, is to symbolize the same thing as Ezekiel's use of the word. In our own churches, the equivalent to Israel, there is false doctrine which is deadly. When the beast rules, it won't be from a hellish perspective, but, a pseudo-religious one. The people in Israel were worshipping the mystery religion, and therefore they were considered deadly. They were called scorpions, in whose tails, was a kind of living death. Tails of the scorpion, in this chapter, are false lamps, or light, or the doctrine of the false religion. Beware, because, part of that doctrine is Christmas and all the other paganized parts of Christianity which are anathema.
And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. Death takes a holiday. This will really happen.
And the shapes of the locusts [were] like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads [were] as it were crowns like gold, and their faces [were] as the faces of men. Locusts - Devourers - armies of the oppressor These locusts don't refer to the grunts, but, to the top brass. Top brass are archangels. Crowns denote princes. In Daniel, glorious Archangel Michael describes fighting with the Angel/King of Persia. Michael is called the "Prince of Judah." The Prince of Judah is Jesus Christ. Is Michael the pre-incarnate Christ? The First and the Last? Michael means the "Image of God." Isn't that what Christ is? The phrase, "one of the .." means the First. Danel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and [there is] none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. Horses- denote War So, in this context, Angels are Princes, which are archangels. Both the Holy and the Damned. The Locusts are the powers behind the evil in this world, whose Illumination is the classic black hole light.
And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as [the teeth] of lions. LONG HAIR.
| |||||||
And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings [was] as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. BREASTPLATES- VERY IMPORTANT!!!! The breastplates these angels wore, were of iron. This alludes to their toughness. Like bulletproof vest. It's no match for the breastplate of righteousness, which is Christ, or the beauty and glory of the breastplates of the scorpion's counterparts, the Royal Archangels. The High Priest of Judah wore this Holy Breastplate, to symbolize something extremely Holy, in every sense. It had rows of jewels, to symbolize each tribe. It was similar to the description of New Jerusalem in small scale. In Exodus alone, there are abundant references to the breastplate of Aaron, the High Priest. It is sacred beyond our wildest dreams. We who are of Christ, are given his breastplate of righteousness. Like bulletproof vests, we are protected. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, not even death. The mark of the Beast is the opposite of that. Although getting armor for five months, those who worship the beast will lament, in the day when New Jerusalem is seen. We are implored to turn to God, and get ready for his arrival. We are the ones who can sometimes here the horns of heaven growing near. Confess it brother, you're hearing it too, especially on the very windy days. In fact, during the last hurricane season, many people became believers. It's never too late to join the outcasts. :) Exd 25:7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. Exd 28:4 And these [are] the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. Exd 28:15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; [of] gold, [of] blue, and [of] purple, and [of] scarlet, and [of] fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. Exd 28:22 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends [of] wreathen work [of] pure gold.
And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power [was] to hurt men five months. It's funny that I parrallel with Genesis 8, where Noah was waiting 5 months for the water to subside... I don't know if there's a relationship. Aside from that, there is tremendous symbolism in 9:10. I could easily fill 100 pages with the symbols alone. Here's the briefest outline: TAILS- The plural word "tails" is mentioned only 2 times in the OT. Both time, the word is paired with the word, "FIREBRAND." This is important. FIREBRAND- Jdg 15:4 And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails. but, the same word is used in Job, to denote a DESPISED lamp, or a formerly righteous man, whose lamp is not light-giving, and thus is despised. This is an important subtlety. Isa 7:4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands. for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. Firebrand in Isaiah 7:4 - (ood) In Isaiah 9:15, the best key use of the word tail, we can apply the tail in this verse to the false prophet, and the father of lies, lucifer. This encompasses all literal and metaphorical symbolic use of the Hebrew word. The prophet who teaches lies causes spiritual death, the same way the fierce scorpions in the wilderness could torment and eventually physical death. Isa 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he [is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he [is] the tail. appendage, but, metaphorically, it represents the back end, or opposite. Just like the smoke from the pit, mirrors the smoke from our prayers, this tail was colloquial for false prophet, back in Isaiah's day. I realize that my tail word-romp seems ridiculously arcane, but, it's not. It's the only way to understand this chapter, as well as most of Revelation. TAILS are used metaphorically in REV. 9. Revelation is written in codes, deliberately, not just to invoke mystical meanings, but, because, John was imprisoned on Patmos, by the Romans, and he had escaped the fate of other Christians, which usually was being burned alive, crucified, torn apart by wild animales, etc. He had to code, and speak in metaphors, and symbols established by the preceding centuries of the Prophets of the Lord. The codes and symbols are very important, because, the more obscure the symbols are, the more they rely on original Scriptures, especially from the 12 Minor and 4 Major Prophets. There are "3 Woes" listed in Revelation 9. The first woe is the imminence of demons in record numbers, which exceed 1 billion. (1 billion was the largest number used back then.) The second woe is the unholy one, lucifer, unabashedly appearing, and being loved like a rock star.
And they had a king over them, [which is] the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, (destroyer) but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.
One woe is past; [and], behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. Bound- 1) to bind tie, fasten a) to bind, fasten with chains, to throw into chains b) metaph. 1) Satan is said to bind a woman bent together by means of a demon, as his messenger, taking possession of the woman and preventing her from standing upright 2) to bind, put under obligation, of the law, duty etc. a) to be bound to one, a wife, a husband 3) to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicitGen 2:14 And the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel: that [is] it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river [is] Euphrates. Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: Deu 1:7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all [the places] nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. Deu 11:24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. Rev 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.===================================================
And the four angels were loosed. which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Everything in Revelation, has a counterpart. From the seven churches, seven candlesticks, seven spirits to the four cherubim, and their counterparts.
And the number of the army of the horsemen [were] two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. This 200 million army has been interpreted many ways. It's often coelesced with the army of the North, in the biblical Armegeddon, in the legendary tales. The only trouble with that is that the 200 million army of Armegeddon takes place at the end of the 7 th Day, the Sabbath, when, the final battle occurs according to John's Revelation.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of thehorses [were] as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. Horses- vehicles for war Breastplate-protection as in bulletproof vest spiritually. The arrows of the wicked cannot penetrate the shield of Christ, Jesus. However, those who wear false amulets will be disappointed. The major theme in Revelation is the opposing principalities, of Heaven and Hell. The opposite of Michael and the Angels is lucifer and the antichrist angels. Jancinth-glass-spiritual counterfeit of the High Priest of Judah, Jesus Christ. Brimstone and fire- Hell, the counterfeit spiritual shekinah
By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails [were] like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. |

REVELATION 9 = TERROR
Saturday, December 30, 2006
GENESIS 8 -
Genesis 8
1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. 150 days = approx. 5 months
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf
pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first
day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from
his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Revelation 8 THE SEVENTH SEAL
8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was
silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
This is a momentous revelation. Can you imagine
the utter stillness for a half an hour? Wait a minute.
This takes place outside of the Time-Space Contiuim.
What does this mean?
If a day is a thousand years to the Lord,
then what is 1/2 of 1 hour in 24 hour cycle,
multiplied by 3650... ?
Or does this convey something deeper?
I'm going to read before I comment.
Please Lord, tell us what we need to know.
Hashem Aleftav. Amen.... bbl.
One of my favorite commentaries
is Matthew Henry. It's tried and
true. Here's his solid interpretation.
Verse 1-6 - The seventh seal is opened. There was profound silence in heaven for a space; all was quiet in the church, for whenever the church on earth cries through oppression, that cry reaches up to heaven; or it is a silence of expectation.
Trumpets were given to the angels, who were to sound them.
The Lord Jesus is the High Priest of the church, having a golden censer, and much incense, fulness of merit in his own glorious person.
Would that men studied to know the fulness that is in Christ, and endeavoured to be acquainted with his excellency.
Would that they were truly persuaded that Christ has such an office as that of Intercessor, which he now performs with deep sympathy.
No prayers, thus recommended, was ever denied hearing and acceptance. These prayers, thus accepted in heaven, produced great changes upon earth. The Christian worship and religion, pure and heavenly in its origin and nature, when sent down to earth and conflicting with the passions and worldly projects of sinful men, produced remarkable tumults, here set forth in prophetical language, as our Lord himself declared, Luke 12:49.
Matthew Henry, Calvinist biblical exegete
MH Commentary is a great resource for me.
I can relate to what he's saying about the 1/2 hour silence.
I have been taught that this probably denotes the apostate
churches, lacking in prayer or intercession. In their prosperity,
they were carnal and unclean. Their light is not of Christ.
Their prayers do not rise like the smoke of sweet incense.
The plagues begin. Woe. Woe. Woe to anyone left
behind. I pity those with children, as the Lord
said. There will be no way to comfort them, in the
atrocities and natural disasters which will plague
mankind for 3 1/2 years.

REV. 8:2 | And I saw the seven angels which stood before |
7 seals
7 angels
7 trumpets = Trumpets denote both celebration (Wedding
of the Lamb) and destruction ( Walls of Jericho)
and Holy Convocation (Yom Kippur.)
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer [it] with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. |
As Matthew Henry points out, our prayers have
tremendous power and potential in Heaven.
Gold represents the purity of God.
Let my prayer be set forth before thee [as] incense; [and] the lifting up of my hands [as] the evening sacrifice. |
And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. |
The sound and ethereal mist of our
own mortal cries for mercy, and all
the words of intercession are brought
to the Lord, through the angel's
hand in the censer.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast [it] into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. |
And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. |

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. Trees and green grass are burnt. Everything is deconstructing. Instead of Creation, each angel removes 1/3 of key parts of the creation.
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 1/3 of SEA becomes blood. 1/3 of sealife dies (already happening) 1/3 of ships destroyed (war)
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

Very symbolic language. "Fountain of waters" usually refers to life...
And the name of the star is called Wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Mankind begins to die from the poisoned, or radioactive water.

And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! |
The last three trumpets begin the worst tribulation
in human history. Nothing can compare to the level
of depravity and evil.
