Abraham had eight sons. Seven of them became

Gen 25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

Gen 25:6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham
had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from
Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the
east country.

*****************************************

Abraham understood that Isaac was the
child of promise, because his birth was
a miracle, but, sadly, he couldn't be
equal-minded about the children of
his other wives, even though he loved
them and his sons.

In the flesh, we react viscerally to
jealousy. That's what caused the first
murder, with Cain slaying Abel, because
Abel was preferred in sight. That is
the root of murder: jealousy, hatred
and then murder. In the flesh, it's
hard to overcome these piercing
blows to our ego, but, Christ commanded
us to love those we hate.

This can only be done with the power
of the Holy Spirit, which every soul
needs to seek, by seeking God, who
loves all of Abraham's seed.

This Plan of the Lord's seems to introduce
that paradigm of the "The Chosen" to
set up this condition. His reasons are
righteous. Only those whose hearts are
with God will understand this, like we
are given in such righteous men as
Abraham, Daniel, King David, King
Solomon (well, he kind of fell, but,
there's grace.)

Why is man stricken with jealousies,
resentment, and murderous hatred?
What makes us want someone else
to die? I confess I've wished some
to die, but, I am constantly aware
of it when I see my own hate. I can
only turn it over to the LORD, and
ask him to save me, and give me
grace. When you love your enemy,
you have no enemies, not even
death. This is the path to the
peace that passeth our understanding.

Let it go. Love your brothers. We'll
see Esau and Isaac being set up,
most blatantly, the way Ishmael and
Isaac were. When Abraham passes
away, both Ishmael and Isaac became
brothers again, to bury their father.
In the end, don't we really want to
love our brothers?

Abraham's death brought the two
estranged blood brothers, Isaac and
Ishmael together. They were both blessed
in Abraham, as the Lord promised his
Prophet.

Unfortunately, when it came to resolve
issues, when Isaac dies, the coming
together of Esau and Jacob take on
a darkening seething. Esau acts civilized,
but, in his heart, he doesn't slay Jacob,
because he loves his father, Isaac, so
dearly. But, when Isaac dies, he says,
I will kill Jacob...

Why does our pride lead to our downfall,
too often? There's more than was dreamt
of in any of my philosophies.... so to speak.

Abraham could only protect Isaac from the
first generations. But, the LORD had told him,
from the beginning, the way it would be.The
enmity between the child of promise, and the
children of the flesh created a natural antipathy.

Like he did with Ishmael, when he saw how he
teased Isaac, he sent these six sons eastward,
and there they became the Arabic people.

There would be perpetual friction through
the aeons, until the final days, between the
tribes and the ancestors of Abraham. Even
this first generation provoked enough sparks
between the brethren, for Abraham to
separate them from Isaac, to protect him.
Abraham's sojourn, encompassing the span of
blood children, in all tribes.

Gen 25:12 Now these [are] the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's
son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare
unto Abraham:

Gen 25:13 And these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by
their names, according to their generations: the firstborn
of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Mibsam,

Gen 28:9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto
the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of
Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of
Nebajoth to
be his wife.

Psa 120:5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech,
[that] I dwell in the tents of
Kedar!

Sgs 1:5 I [am] black, but comely, O ye daughters
of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains
of Solomon.

Isa 60:7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered
together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall
minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance
on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my
glory.

Gen 25:14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

Gen 25:15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

Gen 25:16 These [are] the sons of Ishmael, and these [are]
their names, by towns, and by their castles; twelve
princes according to their nations.

Gen 25:17 And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, an
hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave
up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his
people.

Gen 25:18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that [is]
before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: [and]
he died in the presence of all his brethren.

Gen 25:19 And these [are] the generations of Isaac, Abraham's
son: Abraham begat Isaac:

Gen 25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah
to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram,
the sister to Laban the Syrian.

Gen 25:21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she
[was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and
Rebekah his wife conceived.

Gen 25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and
she said, If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went
to enquire of the LORD.

Gen 25:23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations [are] in thy
womb, and two manner of people shall be separated
from thy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger

younger.

Gen 25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold,
[there were] twins in her womb.

Gen 25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment;
and they called his name Esau.

Gen 25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took
hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob:
and Isaac [was] threescore years old when she bare
them.

Gen 25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter,
a man of the field; and Jacob [was] a plain man,
dwelling in tents.
(o/t) Most people assume all Shemites, of Abraham,
are dark-eyed, dark-haired, and many are, but, there's
this red head gene thrown in. We'll see other red-haired
ones in this seed. Christ is referred to cryptically
as red-haired. Isaiah has the best examples of
this in his comparison to Esau with Christ,
who appears to us dressed in red, red-headed
in symbolisms. Isaiah could *see* this clearly,
because Messiah would be kin to King David,
who was "ruddy" or red, too.

Gen 25:28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of [his]
venison: but, Rebekah loved Jacob.
_________________________________________

Esau was a "manly man"! Jacob was a "Mama's
boy," but, so was Isaac, ironically, refusing to marry
during his own mother Sarah's lifetime!

Isaac was 40 when he married Rebekah, and 75
when the boys were born. Instead of impregnating
Rebekah's handmaid, (twice burned...), he importuned
the LORD to open up the womb to keep the celestial
seed promise in the Messiah and Savior.

Isaac was very old when the boys were grown,
and was losing his vision, when he was in his 100s.
But, his other senses took over. He loved Esau's smell,
clad in leathers, bringing "savoury stewed meats" with
spices and aromas. He loved the feel of his leathery
and furry arms, and the smell of the outdoors on
his hunter son.

He must have loved to rub Esau's arm. One
can picture Esau leading his frail father
into the garden, to hear the birds, smell
the green and colors all around, and
hear angels' whisperings, while he made
his dear father the stew he loved, with
meat.

His senses took over when his eyesight
went. So why did he seem feeble when
falling for Rebekah and Jacob's
subterfuge?

The birthright is everything, and by
the Law, Esau was entitled to a
double portion, or even everything,
as he understood, from losing his own
brother Ishmael over this important
blessing. But, Isaac probably was
aware of Esau selling the red, selling
his right of inheritance, for a bowl
of red pottage/lentil stew.

Esau was the progenitor of the Edomites,
who have a tortured history with the
Israelites, and are used powerfully in
scripture and prophecy, but, he disregarded
his inheritance, for the needs of the flesh.

How many of us take for granted the red
blood of our Savior, who gave us a birthright
in the Beloved, to all who have ears, like
Isaac did? Not until we learn that we didn't
value it, do we lose our place in our Father's
kingdom, and have much wailing and
recriminations like Esau did.

The ancestors of Esau, and the crude
Hittite daughters would create a new
Egypt, and a new Pharoah, and era
of totalitarianism (like our world right
now), and not a peaceful time, nor a
righteous king like Abimelek, the good
and God-fearing King of Gerar. He lived
like a brother with Abraham.

(Ger= stranger) Abraham was a
stranger in a strange land, but, his
ancestors would walk the firey coals
of Egypt, until God raised up Moses.

Gen 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the
field, and he [was] faint:

Gen 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee,
with that same red [pottage]; for I [am] faint:
therefore was his name called Edom.

Gen 25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

Gen 25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to
die: and what profit shall this birthright do to
me?

Gen 25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto
him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

Gen 25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles;
and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his
way: thus Esau despised [his] birthright.
